Improved payment method visibility and controls
See how a subscription is set to bill, catch payment issues earlier, and take action before they turn into failed renewals or lost revenue.
The subscription details page now includes a new Payment Method card. It gives merchants better visibility into the payment method tied to a subscription and more control when payment-related issues need attention.
Instead of relying on customers to find the subscriber portal and update their card on their own, merchants can now take action directly from the subscription admin.

With this update, merchants can:
See more at a glance
- View the active payment method on a subscription
- See key payment details like card brand, last four digits, and expiry when available
Take action faster
- Send a secure Shopify payment update link directly to the customer
- Help subscribers update an expired, replaced, or revoked card
- Switch to another saved payment method when one is already available
- Handle more payment-related support directly from the merchant dashboard
This helps merchants resolve billing issues faster, reduce denied payment attempts, and keep more subscribers active.
